About the guide

Using TestTrack Pro provides step-by-step instructions for all the tasks you perform when working with TestTrack Pro.

This guide is not necessarily meant to be read from start to finish. It includes information for users at a variety of levels. To get the most out of the documentation, start by reading the chapters that are most relevant to your use of TestTrack Pro.

Conventions used in the guide

There are a few conventions used throughout the guide that are designed to be completely predictable – so it’s easy to understand what you’re reading, and what you’re supposed to do.

Buttons, tabs, links, and functions are in bold. For example, you might be instructed to click Assign to User. Since Assign to User is in bold, you know to look for a button, function, etc.

Text set in a gray shaded box offers additional information:

Notes Offer more insight into features or issues, or just may be something to keep in mind.

Tips Designed to point out ideas and techniques you might not discover on your own.

Keep the following in mind… and If you want to know more… provide more detailed information and examples.

The following alerts you to an administrator function:

This is an administrator function. Depending on your security level, you may not have access to this command.

Before you start

This guide assumes your PC, printer, and network (if applicable) are set up and ready to use. It also assumes you know how to perform the basic skills needed to use them. If you need more information on basic features, refer to the user guide that came with your computer.

If you are the TestTrack Pro Administrator, you should think about how your company is planning to use TestTrack Pro. Do you want to set up a complex tracking structure to be used by many people and many departments? Or do you simply want to install the program and start tracking? Or do you want to mix and match, using different scenarios for different databases?
